Trim Levels (Exterior)
The M3 comes standard with the Shadow Line package as well as V Spoke Ferric Grey light alloy wheels, LED headlights, and power-folding, heated side mirrors. It's built to be aerodynamic, with the Gurney lip spoiler in the rear, sculpted side mirrors, and front gills. The roof is made of carbon fiber-reinforced-plastic which helps keep the overall weight down. The M3 comes with a sport exhaust system that has quad tailpipes and chrome-plated tips.
Engine (Power)
The 2018 BMW M3 comes standard with a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo, 425-horsepower in-line 6-cylinder engine. The adaptive suspension makes the M3 agile on the road while the optional 6-piston setup increases stopping power.
Performance
This engine has been tweaked for optimal performance. The M3 powerful engine has a high-precision direct injection and two mono-scroll turbochargers with variable valve control. This lightweight, efficient engine provides 406 pounds of torque at 1850 rpm and remains up to 5500 rpm. This is a bit of change from the previous models that typically provided peak power only at higher rpm.
Interior
The 2018 BMW M3 has three standard interior trim level selections to choose from: Fineline Anthracite Wood trim with PearlGloss Chrome highlight, Aluminum Blade interior trim with Black Chrome highlight, and Carbon Fiber interior with Black Chrome highlight. Also available are the BMW individual trim levels: Dark Red Sycamore Wood, Piano Finish Black, and White Ash Grain Wood. The M3 has seven different colors and types of upholstery to choose from. Choose from carbon structure anthracite/black in a cloth/leather combination, Silverstone extended or full Merino leather, orange and black Sakhir extended or full Merino leather, beige Sonoma extended or full Merino leather, or black extended or full Merino leather. Also available are the BMW Individual upholstery colors. Choose from five different shades of extended Merino leather: golden brown, nutmeg, opal white, amaro brown, or cohiba brown.
Safety Features
The newest BMW M3 provides rider safety with driver and passenger airbags. It also comes equipped front-seat side-impact airbags. The front safety belts come with an auto-tensioner feature. The passenger safety belts have automatic-locking retractors as well as the LATCH attachment to assist with child restraint seats. The BMW Assist eCall comes with an SOS button for emergencies. The ABS braking system provides two additional pistons for a total of six to help with braking. This vehicle also comes with the Active M Differential system that controls the actions of each wheel that helps with control around tight turns. The iDrive 6.0 helps you keep your hands on the wheel by allowing you to simply say what you need. The iDrive takes care of the rest. The Park Distance Control system provides visual and audio assistance with parking your M3.
